Rens chose to contribute to socially relevant projects from the legal perspective as a profession. Besides his civil law practice, his areas of expertise include procurement law.
“I advise clients about contracting, sustainable and other property, public procurement processes and private purchasing procedures. I get the most satisfaction from translating good ideas into legally sound and well-considered projects. This involves not only advising on contracts and purchasing terms and conditions, but also pragmatically and efficiently considering solutions for achieving the best results in the shortest term possible.
The most socially relevant subject that I am working on is energy transition. I am particularly interested in the roles that public and private parties can and will be required to play. That is a playing field that is currently undergoing rapid changes: I try to contribute what I can every day.
The combination of freedom and responsibility and the hands-on mentality are what appeals to me at Halsten.”
